FITNESS > EXERCISE
The Exercise section allows you, the business user to create, categorize, and manage your exercise content. Below we’ll explain, step by step, each option in the Exercise section.
Title
Title is a required field. Here you want to be succinct while also making it clear what the exercise is. The title will be the first thing SIXPAC users see when looking through exercise content.
Description
Description is an optional field. While you may leave this field blank, we strongly recommend adding a description that explains the purpose of a given exercise, what muscle groups are used, a brief description of how to do the exercise, addressing proper and improper form and any tips for increasing resistance, and any relevant warnings.
Steps
Steps is an option field. The Steps section allows you to add step by step instructions for your users. To add multiple steps, click the the + sign.
Category
Category is an optional field. Including a category, or multiple categories, helps users search through and filter exercises based on their fitness goals. You can currently choose from Adaptive Exercises, Balance, Cardio & Endurance, Flexibility, Mental Health, and Strength and Conditioning. If you would like to see additional categories added, please reach out and let us know.
Exercise Header Image
An Exercise Header Image is required. This is the image a user first sees when looking at your exercise. What images you use for your content is up to you. The most common choice is a screenshot from the accompanying exercise video, but feel free to be creative and have fun with it.
Exercise Video
An Exercise Video is optional. While optional we strongly recommend including an exercise video because it provides the user with a visual demonstration of the correct form and technique for each exercise, which is important for preventing injury and maximizing the effectiveness of the workout. It allows viewers to follow along and perform the exercises at their own pace. It provides a more engaging learning experience compared to simply reading through steps or looking at images. Finally, it can help build trust and credibility with your audience, as they can see your expertise and experience in action. Overall, including an exercise video as part of an exercise tutorial can enhance the learning and user experience, and improve the effectiveness of each workout.
Fitness Level
Choosing a fitness level is optional. Adding a fitness level helps users search a filter exercises that they can easily do and are comfortable with, regardless of where they are on their fitness journey.
Equipment
Equipment is optional. Specifying any necessary equipment, or “No Equipment” helps users search and filter exercises based on the equipment available to them, or exercises they can do at home without any equipment.
Area of Focus
Area of Focus is optional. Specifying the area(s) of focus allows users to search and filter exercises based on their specific goals or needs.
Interests
Interests is optional. Specifying Interests allows users to search and filter exercises based on specific activities.
Cancel, Save as Draft, Save & Publish
Cancel – This is pretty straight forward, but Cancel will take you away from what you’re currently working on without saving your progress.
Save as Draft – Saving your content as a draft allows you to save your progress without publishing it. Only you can see the content you’ve created.
Save & Publish – This option will save your content and publish it, allowing all users to view your newly created content.
